I swear, ever since my ass got bigger, shopping has become a giant pain in it.
Biggest problem: pants. See, I am the AVERAGE HEIGHT of 5'4". And I have no interest in dealing with getting pants hemmed. Seriously, is that what MOST people do? Because MOST women are about 5'4" - that's average height - and most pants come in regular.
So usually, I buy my pants at Express. I go discount on everything else, but pants, I buy retail. So I can get them the right length and be sure they'll last. Except last time I was in Express, I found out they stopped carrying 12 short. Short only goes to 10. Which I bought two pairs, but now I'm afraid 10s won't fit fresh off the rack and unstretched.
OK, so I tried good old-fashioned department stores. Yeah, I forgot they still made pants that go up to your waist. UG. I need a giant section with a big sign that says: LOW RISE WORK PANTS IN SHORT SIZE 10 AND 12 HERE. Seriously, I can't stand pants touching my waist for even the few horrifying minutes in the changing room when I suddenly realize I'm trying on a tent.
So I just don't even know where to go anymore.
And you know you have to grab a million sizes of each thing. Just yesterday I was at Mervyns trying on those sweaters with the built-in button-down - totally loving those right now, btw. Yeah, in one brand I'm completely swimming in the large, in the other, the medium is so tight I look like a hooker. In a sweater with built-in button-down.
Seriously, the clothes shopping, it's beginning to drive me mad.
Of course, the worse thing about shopping for work clothes yesterday? I TOTALLY should have gone to the dressing room one more time to see if the teal cabled sweater with the built-in button-down would fit in a large.

You could try Gap. If they don't have what you're looking for in the store, you can always order from the website...

I hate shopping for clothes. It's not any better if you're tall. I basically gave up on women's pants because the pockets (if they exist) usually suck and by the time I found something long enough, it was way too wide. If they offered women's pants with the waist and inseam varieties men's come in (using-hello- actual measurements), shopping would be much more palatable.
