Well, I'll be darned, Liz - you linked me! Thanks for the blog endorsement. :)

I LOVE your thoughts, lady. I know. The gender stereotyping in country music is a bit out of control. I tend to stay far away from anything Trace Adkins, Toby Keith, or Big & Rich puts out.

Brad Paisley is funny because he can't do an in-betweener kind of song. He's either writing sappy Love Songs, or cynical Man Songs. But he's just so dang "cute"... :)

Kim

But didn't you know? Men are men and women are women and they only "hang out" together before they get married and then they want to hang out with their same-sex friends again.

Maybe they should write a song "in a black and white world." And I'm not talking about racism.

Liz

Hi Annie - You're welcome! LOL True confessions time - I totally love me a couple Brad Paisley songs, too.

Kim - Thank goodness that's not true for us! And you're right, there's totally a country song to be written here.

Randy

I don't really care for what passes as country music these days, but I do like some of the old stuff. Lefty Frizzell's Mom and Dad's Waltz comes to mind at the moment. Good song.

Hollywood

Those lyrics are amazingly awful! I sometimes just stay listening to the country music station in sick fascination trying to guess whether or not the artist meant the song as a joke or not. Pickler is so funny because she's got masses of personality in person but when she sings she turns into cold cabbage soup. But hey, if we keep our fingers crossed maybe we'll see her at our shindig tonight!

Liz

Randy - I have to admit that older country isn't always my cup of tea, but some of it is fun.

Hollywood - Yeah, I guess it depends on what you think is "funny." ;)
