When you're unemployed what you hope for your Monday is Extreme Productivity. And I was ready. I had a brunch and a book club meeting on Sunday, but I was home by 6:30pm. Plenty of time to get to bed early and be ready to spring into action the next day.
And then I did 30 hard-core minutes of Wii Fit Rhythm Kung-fu and Rhythm Boxing. At the end of which, I was wheezing from whatever lung sludge will not let me be. And I woke up this morning feeling like someone beat me with a sack of potatoes. Brilliant.
Now, I did apply to some jobs today, and I did rehang a picture with screws instead of nails so it would hang right, and I did find a piece of a borrowed drill I had misplaced, and I did some cooking and a wee bit of cleaning. I'm totally ready to do a load of laundry... tomorrow.
But, it wasn't exactly the kick-ass-and-take-names day I'd planned. Not to mention I stupidly bought cereal at the grocery store this weekend, so I just ate that like a snack all day. Note To Self: This is why we can't buy cereal.
(Speaking of snacks, if you've got a minute, please check out my review of Werther's Original Sugar Free Candies and let me know (over there) your favorite tricks for staying healthy during a work day.)
Worst part of the day? No calls from potential employers. I'm still waiting to hear about a job I REALLY want, and I've heard nothing, despite emailing HR to check in last Wednesday. I'm totally dying about it, but there's nothing I can do but keep on keeping on.
Is it Tuesday yet? I'm ready for Tuesday.
