This policy applies to my personal blog, Everyday Goddess, and my review blog, Everyday Goddess Does...
- First and foremost Everyday Goddess and Everyday Goddess Does... are both personal blogs. This means that I only present, review and discuss things that are of personal interest to me. It's not out of the realm of possibility that I might review something of interest "to my readers" that doesn't also personally interest me, but it is unlikely. Personal. Blog.
- My interests, product-wise, include beverages of all sorts, tech of all sorts, software (I'm a Mac), games of all sorts, cleaning and personal products, home items, film production items, and basically anything geeky. I am more excited by campaigns and products that are for women *and* men. Although, if you're sending me tampons, OK, your product really is just for women.
- PR pitches are welcome to lizriz217 AT earthlink DOT net. Primarily I operate under a positive-replies-only system. If I'm not interested in a pitch I simply delete the email. I believe this helps everyone keep their email under control.
- Paid reviews and blogger events and product reviews where I got the product for free live over at Everyday Goddess Does... Whatever the situation is on any given post, it will be stated clearly within the review. I will blog a pointer post on my main blog to my review blog, and I usually Twitter and/or Facebook that a new review post is up.
- My book reviews live on Everyday Goddess and contain a statement that I got the book for free. I generally do not review books that haven't been specifically sent to me for review. I am an Amazon Associate, so all my Amazon links track my associate code. I dream of the day this system works better.
- Currently, the only other affiliate program on my blog is Threadless. I am also a Nintendo Enthusiast, and I have an informal relationship with Wax Poetic Salon & Gallery, which I've been patronizing since 2002.
- Additional advertising on Everyday Goddess is available exclusively through BlogHer Ads.
- I only ever give my honest opinion, good or bad. I also try to explain things in such a way that a reader might realize that they might like something I don't, or not like something I do. I find that happens a lot in blogger reviews, where the reason someone liked or didn't like something hits me the other way.
- I do not accept paid links on any of my blogs, nor do I "swap links," and I would never, ever accept payment for a sneaky mention. I do not do pay per tweet. If I mention a product in passing, you better believe no one paid for that. When I blog a pic of Bumble & Bumble, for example, no one paid for that. If they had, it would be a full review, with disclosure, and it would be over at Everyday Goddess Does...
- When it comes to media such as television shows, films, and web series, I tend to avoid blogging about anything other than content I like. I do regularly receive industry screeners and attend screenings.
- I do occasionally reprint a press release for an event, in quotes, if it's for something I'm interested in promoting and/or attending.
- I blog with integrity, and I follow BlogHer's editorial guidelines.
